Forecast for Trade Fair Industry in Asia

As per Business Strategies Group, in year 2008 the total space sales in Asia would be around 14.8 million square meter, which had indicated a increase of 12.5% from year 2007. We were very much close to the actual estimate, i.e. 14348750 square meter. Last of 2008 and 2009 were a victim of global recession and the global economy was very bad. Apart from that, BSG is forecasting the growth of exhibition space sales between 1% - 2.5% in year 2009.


China and India are the largest trade fair markets in Asia, are expected to perform extremely well again this time as they has been top performers in the period of downfall in global economy. Keeping the fact in mind that the growth in both the countries will be effected by the reduced exports in international market, the estimated growth in China's economy will be 6.5 and for India it will be 5%. Other major market players in Asia will be Japan with estimated growth of -6.4%, Hong Kong wit estimated growth of -6.7% and Singapore with -8.8%


In its first edition, BSG has reported that the availability of trade fair space was a big concern in Asia's Exhibition Industry. After that report, the number of exhibitions in Asia has increased to 165 fro 101. The estimated increase of region's capacity will be 5.2 million square meter to 5.5 million square meter. Which will be a increase of around 5% compared to 13% rise in year 2008.


By the end of year 2009, China will be the leader with 87 venues out of 165 and will be followed by Japan, India and Korea. In percentage china will have 65.9% of all the capacity of Asia and will be 10 times bigger than the second one Japan.


China Foreign Trade Group will be a leader in top organizers in Asia, with organizing high number of events in China.
